Melissa Gilbert, known for her role in ‘Little House on the Prairie,’ just gave up Botox and says she is now “at peace” with the aging process…
Melissa Gilbert is a lady who has a diverse set of skills. She has worked in a variety of fields, including acting, directing and producing for television, as well as politics. In addition to that, she served as the head of the Screen Actors Guild at one point in her career.
Gilbert was born in 1964, to a couple who decided to place her for adoption shortly after her birth. Her adoptive parents are not known.
Just one day later, she became the child of actor Paul Gilbert and his wife, Barbara Crane, who adopted her. After some time, they became parents to a boy called Jonathan Gilbert.
It should come as no surprise that Gilbert and her brother both went on to pursue careers in the entertainment world since both of their parents were very brilliant in their own right.
Gilbert had a successful career as a child actor in the late 1960s and started building a reputation for herself at a very early age.
Her role as Laura Ingalls Wilder in the television series “Little House on the Prairie” was where Gilbert first gained widespread recognition as an actress. She has also published a few autobiographies in which she discusses her experiences throughout life.
Gilbert, who is now 58 years old, has made the decision to live a life that is far less complicated than that of others in Hollywood.
Along the road, she has had a few challenges, but she has triumphed over them by surrounding herself with an abundance of optimism and grace. On top of that, she is very beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, and she has chosen not to have Botox but rather to age in a more natural way.
The “Little House” book series that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote was adapted into a very popular television series called “Little House on the Prairie.”
Gilbert reflected on her time spent acting on the series by telling that although working on it was “like a really amazing summer camp,” she also had the opportunity to “play the ultimate game of dress-up, i don’t recall it ever not being enjoyable.”
Gilbert battled in her personal life, while receiving credit for her abilities on television.
She dealt with substance misuse, unfaithful partners, and physical issues, all while receiving attention for her work.
On the other hand, when Gilbert thought back on the challenges she had faced, she stated, “Everything, regardless of how terrible it was, brought me to this place I am right now, which is truly an incredible place to be.”
Gilbert has struggled in his personal life but has been able to create a nice home life for herself. Timothy Busfield is her husband, and they have two children.
Gilbert said this about the moment she realized she had found the person she was destined to be with: “This guy astounds me with the breadth of his comprehension as well as his compassion and generosity. And oh, the laughter that we share! What a lucky person I am! How appreciative.”
Gilbert added, “I am pretty happy with how things are going for me in my life right now… I’ve discovered an extraordinary quiet and calm in my life, in the place I call home in upstate New York, and inside myself.”
The actress disclosed that in order to “really mature,” she “had to move away of Los Angeles,” which was something that she “wanted to accomplish.”
Before this, Gilbert put a significant amount of stock in Botox. Her memoir, “Back to the Prairie,” revealed that she had had “injections, augmentations, and veneers” and that she was “doing everything right for an actress closing in on 50 attempting to retain a career…”
Gilbert shared his thoughts by saying, “I was raised in a business that places a far more value on the outer than on the inside, and she got caught up in the hamster wheel of always wanting to look youthful.
“I was finally able to open my eyes and asked myself, “What am I doing?” I feel like a carrot on top, and it’s making me miserable,’ “Gilbert remarked.
“My way of thinking was, “You need to maintain your weight. You have to make sure that people notice you in the correct areas, and that you are dressed appropriately and driving the appropriate vehicle.
That was something that was constantly hammered into my head by various outside influences. However, I could never get used to it.” The actress went on to say, “I stopped getting Botox and all of the other treatments, and I shaved off all of my hair.”
Gilbert is finally aging naturally and beautifully despite all of the pressure that Hollywood puts on actors.
She revealed that “No Botox or fillers, no implants, and no hair dye, just me, that makes me pleased. This is good for you. This is quite powerful.
This has its origins here. This demonstrates assurance. This is a lady who has lived a life worthy of forming ideas, now everything is calm, peaceful, and at rest… at long last.”
